YOGA VIDYADHAM KOLHAPUR an Institute devoted to the progress and propagation of YOGA was founded in 1984 in Kolhapur under the able guidance of Late Hemubhai Vasa a great lover and devotee of YOGA and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Kolhapur. Later in 1985 the Institute was affiliated to YOGA VIDYADHAM, Nasik with a view to ensure a stable and permanent existence. Since then it has been doing useful and constructive work under the able guidance of Mr. Vishwasrao Mandlik, the reputed yoga teacher and Vice Chancellor of YOGA VIDYAPEETH, NASIK.

The Yoga Vidyadham, Kolhapur has made remarkable progress in all area of Yogic Science. Since its inception, for the last 16 years, it has organised about 400 camps in YOGA and has successfully conducted 21 camps for the training of would be teachers of Yoga. Courses in YOGA Pravesh, Yoga Parichay, Yoga Pravin and Yoga Pandit, imparting all round knowledge in Yoga are also conducted. The trained teachers are responsible for conducting Yoga Classes in different towns and villages and have contributed largely to the wide spread Yoga activities in Southern Maharashtra and Northern Karnataka. This has also helped a lot in making Yoga popular among all the strata of Society.
At present, about fifty such branches are doing very useful work and by their efforts, Yoga has touched about 10,000 men, women and Youth making them regular Yoga Sadhakas. Though such useful work is being done by this Institute, it is seen that this work has greatly suffered for want of a Building of its own.

It is proposed to undertake the following useful projects in the proposed 'YOGA BHAVAN'.
